brendon moeller returns to third ear after some years, following up his lauded jazz junk safari trilogy of eps with 4 peak time bombs. all 4 tracks blow up the dance floor. brendon moeller known for his sound design, has taken his sonics to extremes on all four tracks, pushing, twisting and teasing frequencies to the limit. the bass on all tracks is phenomenal. it s just as well that a master engineer like pole has mastered these tracks, maxing out the sound yet protecting the sound systems that these bombs will be played on. super fun.

on november 13th, pnn records will release the debut album of its most enigmatic artist myr. diamondbacks make wonderful pets is more than just a strange name, it nine tracks represent an exciting evolution in myr.s trajectory as an artist. following his debut ep nobody knows avalon myr. seems to have dug deep and discovered another level to his sound. each of the tracks on the record are confidently offbeat and precisely composed.a little-bitty bowl (with b.hotton), mixes thunder sound-effects with glitchy synth bleeps, layering them above darker tones which build to a perfect storm in the middle. this 10 minute track fails to get boring and is representative of the album as a whole. myr.s ability to carry off strange hybrids is what makes his music unique. from the ghostly warbles of i think i hear them coming to the sunnier sounds of eleanor, myr.s disregard for the norm has lead to an exceptional record that surprises at every turn.

kensuke fukushima is an established name in the music industry, with releases on wax in a handful of different labels. his astonishing work on “get in” proves that fukushima’s vision is wide and obeys no standards, resulting in this unique piece of music that we proudly present. besides the dub version from fukushima, this edition also counts with two remixes.
through the hands of andy book, the label owner, we receive this clubby interpretation, full of raw elements and fantastic twist in the melody of the original track. her joys, delivers a jazzy approach to fukushima’s track, making good use of acoustic percussion.

2015 has been a busy year for soul intent. relocating from nottingham to bromley, releasing -the fruit club ep- on lossless in march, his -wanna fight ep- dropped on klute s commercial suicide in august, the sci-fi themed -replicant- marked lossless music s first digital only release in october and his -late night sleaze ep- has been awarded mixmag s dnb tune of the month (nov 15 issue). on top of all this alex is about to launch two (yes two!!) sub-labels for lossless music. the first of these is exkursions. exkursions will cater for the deeper, more experimental side of dnb & electronic music. though concentrating it s tempo focus around the 170 mark exkursions will also be taking explorations down into slower soundscapes. the first release is a 3 tracker from soul intent and the tracks have already turned the heads of respected selectors including doc scott, presha, loxy and logistics. we won t say much for than that, we ll let the music do the talking.

with this new project, madben & yann lean get back to the essence of techno with a raw sound based on groove, textures and catchy hooks. influenced by 90s rave sound et artists like jeff mills, surgeon, dj pierre, dave clarke or dj funk the french producers like to write their music on-the-fly and are adepts of a very spontaneous track conception. with trunkline they bring back the unique texture of analogic techno. trunklines vinyl label will release the duos eps. they plan to release one maxi per trimester. the project will also take to the stage as a four deck dj set and then a 100% machine live performance in the summer of 2016.

san fransisco meets nyc for the third release on fifth interval. rose bay from federsen sets the tone for the record: drenched in tape hiss, the warm pads and delays create a richly textured environment for deeper club sets or for 2am sessions on headphones. dub techno luminary brendon moller offers up two versions of the title track to complete the ep - one in his own name and the second under his ecologist guise. fans of the label will no doubt be well aware of moller s formidable discography, which includes 10 albums under a variety of aliases, exploring the outer reaches of dub music. coaxing two captivating versions from his studio in upstate new york, moller focusses on the chord stabs from the original for the echologist dub, pushing the stabs and percussion through the desk, twisting the tails through tape delay and creating new vistas through crafty use of panning and bona fide dub production techniques. closing with the outstanding tidal dub, moller dons his beat pharmacy cap and pushes the mammoth bassline to near speaker-crushing levels to create a deeply hypnotic groove that is accentuated by waves of ferric pads and fractured percussion.

nyc producer, one half of point break, and dusk notes co-founder, cory james, will drop his latest ep, the home treatment, via behzad et amarou records on december 2. the home treatment will be the second release on behzad et amarou records (a.k.a. bear), which was launched in early 2015 by french duo, and concrete residents, behzad & amarou. the four tracks on the home treatment present a dark, atmospheric sound, bookended by textural pads, haunting ambience, and galloping rhythms.

cadenza music opens up its 2016 account with the debut single from swiss producers, rare movement feat. disco channel. cutting their teeth on the dj circuit for many years, and playing alongside such esteemed jocks as seth troxler, ricardo villalobos (who mastered the audio on these tracks), jamie jones and luciano (who ultimately signed this single to cadenza), the guys have crafted a pair of tracks that sit right in the dj sets of the aforementioned company. rare 007 combines tension building synths and a wandering bassline, wrapped up tight in solid drum groove, its hypnotizing tones carving out a most useful club tool. on the flip side, rare 011 digs deeper, with cinematic string sweeps over the sparse and bass heavy kick drum. flashes of vocal refrains and micro percussion fly in and out of the arrangement as the melodic elements give this one a real sense of drama as the track blossoms into life. a very accomplished debut from the guys will no doubt provide a real dancefloor moment in the right setting, and no surprise that villalobos gave these tracks the audio master that they deserve.

one year has passed since the pilotwings’ first output « agorespace ». expectations went further in 2015 as they contributed to the rave-ish j-zbel project. the pair is now back on bfdm with another ode to rurality and old-fashioned analogue. including 4 tracks, « molitor 71 » goes deeper into retrofuturist nostalgia and bucolic mood. a1 31 septembre (on va tout niker) introduces full-on panflute melodies and uplifting korg exotica. as the trancy chicago dream fades out, a2 les invasions babar unveils its weird combo of electro beats and massive patrick cowley-esque synths. unplanned bass moves lead this jam while an undertaking voice calls for no less than « the greatest experience of your life ». things settle down on the nocturnal b1 congo libre. focus on breakbeats and sophisticated rhythms evokes trance beats, while sparkling synths emerge from everywhere. the ep ends up with a floating ambient piece called buruganda ouverture and designed for the listener to rediscover the meaning of his existence. molitor will give you faith in humanity and flutes again.

frank cunimondo trio still hits it with “feeling good” on the a, jazz, house & hip hop heads all dig it. etta james “in the basement” will always start the party, pure soul, the funky smell, and the sweaty groove.
